Bill Bavasi must Go!

Well the site is finally up! Thanks for visiting.

The idea for this site came to me a few seasons ago right around the time when we started signing guys like Aurilia & Spiezio. Last off-season at least gave me hope - I was very happy with the Beltre and Sexson signings - but this off-season has to be one of the worst ever. And after sitting around watching the big names sign elsewhere, the Carl Everett & Matt Lawton signings finally gave me the motivation I needed. I mean, seriously - CARL EVERETT is his solution our anemic offense? And is he really the answer to the lack of leadership in the clubhouse?

Anyways - most of the site is functional. Please sign the petition to let the M's management know the masses are becoming concerned. Also check out the forums where you can share your thoughts, ideas, whatever on the Mariner's state of affairs.

Continue to check this blog for my thoughts on trades, signings and rumors. I'll also try to link to any major happenings.

Finally, take a look at some of the items we have for sale. Not only do they show your support for getting rid of Bavasi but they also help fund this site. We'll have more designs coming next week too!

We must burn a paper statue of Bill Bavasi in protest, hang a giant FireBillBavasi sign on the space needle. On second thought the petition might work better, or a full page ad in the Sunday paper.

Logan, Nagol, Mr. X, Gonal, Nogal, Olgan, etc....brilliant website you've put together. Now that it's up, kindly stay away from the P.I. Forum.

Have a nice life

Talk about a waste of time.Do you honestly think this will work and that anybody who matters even gives a damn about sites like these?

They pop up all the time and nobody cares. Not Howard Lincoln, not Chuck Armstrong, nobody.Your wasting your time.

I believe that Bill Bavasi will be fired in all likelihood at the end of the season, but it is interesting to speculate on exactly what the catalyst will be.

Firstly, my take is that the Ms will not get to .500 this year, perhaps winning 72-78 games. So based on performance alone, Mr. Bavasi might find himself out of a job.

But it is also possible that something more dramatic could happen, causing Mr. Bavasi to be let go in mid-season. My guess as to the most likely catalyst would be a a highly publicized incident early in the season involving Mr. Everett that galvanizes members of the community to picket Safeco field, leading to major declines in attendance. As usual, Mr. Lincoln will try to paper over the situation, but Carl is not one to back down, and this could lead to a wholesale management turnover.

Personally, I have worked in the past for the Mariners. I remember a time when you couldn't give away tickets to a game, and there were no Mariner souvenier stands, no one hocking as much as a Mariner pennant outside the Kingdome. But folks cheered "Rupe" for Rupert Jones, and we all got by, knowing this wasn't a baseball town back in the 70's-80's and that better days were surely ahead.

Yeah, in 95'.

Prior and after that, the Mariners front office continued to pinch pennies, as old Dan O'Brian could be seen walking on the dimmly lit centerfield astro-turf, picking up change thrown by fans, after the game, for his lunch money. One could call it frugal, but I called it cheap.

Back then, they gave away the farm, hired old players to fill the seats, and then proceeded to hire pitchers who gave up as many homers as we tried to hit as a team. We are still doing that. We hire has-beens or never can be's, and every year the prices go up.

Do the math folks....and please fire the front office...
